Emily Rowley Eve 1862 is one of a pair of samplers stitched by sisters in that year. There was nearly 3 years age difference between the girls but their samplers are of a very similar composition, likely to have been stitched side by side at the small village school they attended in Nottinghamshire. They make fantastic companion pieces with the girls each choosing verses with different sentiments. Click here to see Annie's pattern here for comparison.
The pattern for Emily's chart is all cross stitch over 2 meaning it would be suitable for stitching on either linen or Aida.
The stitch count is 166 x 121 and the model was stitched on 36ct 'Gray' (#1173) from Weeks Dye Works using Au Ver à Soie silk thread - Soie d’Alger #163 (a DMC conversion is provided in the chart pack). The design area on 36ct fabric measures approximately 9 1/4" x 6 3/4" (23.5cm x 17.2cm).
Our PDF downloads include both a symbol only and colour version of the chart along with a sizing guide for a variety of fabric counts. Upon purchase you will have access to both A4 (UK) and letter (US) formats to account for local printing standards.
