C. Moulton 1877 is a reproduction of a 19th century cross stitch sampler from the private collection of Whilst Iris Naps Designs.

This easy to follow cross stitch chart in PDF format includes all the stitching information you will need to complete and enjoy this reproduction.  Upon purchase you will have access to both A4 (UK) and letter (US) formatted PDFs.

A guide to show how I mounted my sampler onto the spool is included in the PDF should you want to finish this sampler in a similar way.  If you're just curious how much effort is involved, or prefer to follow a video rather than written instructions, I now also have a walk through spool sampler tutorial video on YouTube showing my process.

The pattern stitch count is 95 x 90 and our model is stitched using 1 strand floss over 2 linen threads on 40ct 'Old Stationery' by Seraphim Fabrics.  We have used an Au Ver à Soie (Soie d'Alger) silk for our reproduction but provide a suggestion for conversion to DMC in the chart.  The design area on 40ct fabric measures approximately 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches (12.1 x 11.4 cm).

The pattern has some Smyrna stitches over 4 threads and some long stitches but is suitable for stitching on either linen or Aida.

Please note, our PDFs are not automatically e-mailed to you as attachments as they can be large files and we offer at least 2 different print versions.  Instead, you can download immediately after payment from the webpage you are returned to or follow the "Download Files" link from the Order Confirmation e-mail which is highlighted in blue.

We cannot offer returns, exchanges or cancellations but please do contact us if you have any problems at all with an order.
